SCR-8 Cassette Door removal?

Hi guys, was just looking at my SCR-8, and noticed the cassette door and tape function buttons look like they sit crooked inside. I'd like to get back inside it to see what's wrong but I can't figure out how to remove the cassette door without breaking it, anyone know how to do this?

Specifically, how to not break the little tabs on the rear face of the door that holds it onto the hinge frame?

The door just slides up and off when it’s open. The tabs are so skinny that they will likely break tho. I spent ages refabricating a tab on mine only for another to break off lol

Yeah, they are if'y. Got super easy on them. Open the deck door, and SLIDE the front face straight up and it should just pop off

Hm... Tried that, and I somehow got it off before but sliding it up doesn't release it... Do they have tabs on the bottom too? Mine don't and whwn the tape deck opens the door kinda swings an 1/8th inch at the bottom, if that males sense. But it won't come off again 😂

Okay I got it off 😂 now I'm trying to remove the handle... I see little black tabs that slide out of the slots in the rear case but they don't wanna 😂

Got it, sorry bout that. I'm not the most well versed in the breakdown of these boombixes, just know the basics. What is this thing? The little white plastic block, is it just a buffer/cushion for the internals?

Yeh it should have 4 tabs...2 at the top and 2 at the bottom
