I grabbed this Sanyo out of a lot of 5 radios & miniblasters, and unfortunately it will not turn on at all. It is completely inoperable. No pop from the speakers, no static, no LED's, absolutely nothing. I've tried both 9V DC barrel & (good) batteries, no dice.

Even the "Eject" button for the Cassette door is jammed and will not press. There is a Cassette inside it which I can't remove.

I took a peek inside but it seems like it would be well beyond my expertise to even disassemble the unit. I don't see any fuses on any of the boards either.

Hoping I or somebody can get it working, if it's not completely toast.

It's possible someone fried the power stage by using the wrong polarity barrel plug.
But think again, I don't think a positive ground barrel plug is all too common. What I think occurred here is somebody just carelessly plugged in something like a 12 or 18V wall wart, fed too much voltage to the unit and fried it.

It can take twice the nominal voltage and reverse polarity shouldn't matter either. You need to pull it down and trace the voltage on the PCB. It may also be the function/ power switch.
