Got it cleaned up, sprayed controls, blew out dust and cleaned all accessible surfaces, aligned AM and FM (except ferrite bar. How does one do this anyways? Melt the wax? Lol), and applied brake fluid to the surrounds witha cotton swab. Recapped amp and power supply yesterday. Minor if any improvement in sound quality. In some ways, this box has better mid-range than my Toshiba RT-S90. I think the Toshiba is a little grainier, but has better spatial imaging. The bass is better on the Sanyo at lower volumes, but the Toshiba holds keeps things composed at somewhat higher volumes. Treble is more relaxed on the Sanyo. Have to dial it back sometimes on the Toshiba to avoid listener fatigue. Both great boxes. Now, just waiting on USPS to deliver the M90 I bought. I recapped the Sanyo yesterday because I'm afraid the M90 will make me forget all others for a while. We'll see! Hope I at least get the antenna installed when that arrives from Portugal. Sorry for the poor documentation. If anyone needs to see the Nichicon and Panasonic recap photos for some particular reason, I could get back inside the unit. Thanks for reading my ramble!
