Just picked up this Sanyo 920. Have seen hard times. A lot of wear marks. Strange decision from some owner to put a hitachi w55e sticker on top :sadno: . Missing mic mixing knob, two cracks on the radio dial, loudness and ALC caps and one screw on the tape door and one aerial tip. Really dirty (that will be fixed tonight  ). Radio and "in" working. The tape didnt respond at all (but i think is the function switch problem). Its my firs time to see in live 920 and i love it already. Love the tuning  . Love to have it  . I was planing to have it like a finishing box for my first 3 monts of collecting. But 2 days later is still ok  . Im happy and this box will see a lot of love  . And its on save place now  .

Thank you all.
But im already scared how im going to restore it. Just started to disassembling and this one looks too complicated for me  . The discoloration of the top panel is really bad too. It have a new belts though :w00t: . Will ask a friend technician for help :-D . Strange thing - the speakers (woofers) are rated min 10w max 20 watts but the back cover saying 23W consuming power :hmmm: . Love the build quality inside too :w00t: . Its really well made. And this sticker on top is goin to be pain in the a.s. WD40 worked well but there is some sort of melted plastic from glue :sadno: .

Wow wow. When i was typing this post was thinking "is it worth to save it, or sellit or part it.." and so. And just unhook the cables from the Super Jumbo's in lane (it s my laptop amp  ) and put it in the Sanyo in lane. And just :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: .( there is some liquid DnB playing on my netbook) . The sound of this old warrior is amazing  . And the separation...... and sooo. Even my girlfriend from the other room shout "damn this thing sounds crystal clear''. Its deffo a keeper box. already love it. Not a big deal its not minty at all. Its hard beaten. But its amazing box  . Love it  .

:agree: Gotta love those beaters!

Actually, when you think about it, the "daily driver" is the most important box in your collection... :hmmm:

Yeah, sounded like a tool. Why not just ignore the message?

Thanks. Have a question - its the light just from one side of the dial or should be from both?
It's just on one side and travels along an inner piece of plexiglas for tuner and meter lighting :-)

It does...at least mine does... :-D . The biggest problem with these 920's are they generally need a recap. After the recap you will LOVE the sound and performance.

Hey Stormsven.

After you fix her up, it might look like mine.

Wow  ,i doubt it. My Is bad discolorated . But will give my best. And my friend technician resurrected a lot of old things. But still no chance for such minty like yours
Thanks for the answer for the light Badboybill  .

And now i have some idea for "grail status" for me - any boombox with real metal is "must have".
