Sanyo 9998: Are there 4 different models? Which is best?

I noticed some 9998s Are the k model, and some 9998s have chrome caps on the speakers.

In combination does that mean there are 4 types?

Does the shortwave model have better features?

I read this about the speakers, can anyone confirm it is true ?

As a plug to james's 9998 sale, his appears to be the black dome model.

i have a stealth black job -
and another with chrome details --

they sound identical --both are awesome

lets assume -- that all 4 versions will vary slightly in features -
but are 99% = same box

ie--get one !!!

I've seen that guy's writing before, but he never backs up his info. I fail to see why Sanyo would put better speakers in one version of the box, without raising the price or bragging about it.

No. The ones with chrome feet and chrome dust caps are the 4-band K version. The 2-band non-K version has black woofers. There might also be regional L/LU versions, etc. but basically on 2-different looking ones.

I see now that James has the L model, 4 band like the k, but stealth black.
If anyone has a Lu model I'd be curious to see a picture.

Here is the LU model Restocat.
It's just like the "K" but in 220 volts only.
I used to own it,but I traded it. But I'm getting it back soon.
I got this from Ira a while ago.

Not the kind of box you sell Ira? Now I don't think I've heard that before out of any
Boombox model. Now I need to collect both styles for sure.

On a totally different note,
I went to the flea today. Only one boombox, and it was an Eggie.
