I recently picked up this Palladium 872/075 at a local auction for $60. It's in a very nice shape, it isn't missing any knobs and they all work fine.
Both tape decks cue, fast-forward, stop, eject and pause with no problems. When I try to play a cassette, everything works except the take-up reel, which doesn't spin and the tape gets pulled inside.
At first I thought it's just the belt, but then I noticed something strange when there are no tapes in the machine.
The box is set to Tape 1 and I press play on Deck 1, the reel doesn't spin. I stop deck 1 and press play on deck 2, and there the reel spins. I stop deck 2 and play deck 1 again, and the reel spins. I stop Deck 1 and play it again, and it doesn't spin anymore. This doesn't work if there is a tape in any deck.
