Can anyone help me?
For the last couple of weeks, sometimes I would turn the power on of my Rx-c300 and only the tape deck module would come on while the radio/EQ/spectrum analyzer/amp module wouldn’t. It means that nothing other than the tape works but with no sound. Surprisingly, a couple of times all I needed to do was to tap gently on the top of the unit to get it going. Bizarre!! It would go for a day or two without any problemes. Cannot explain it. But now, since yesturday, NOTHING. Tape modul powers up and thats it. No tapping will change anything now. What is wrong with this box??? Just got that box. 😩 please help me.

Heres a pics of the box for those lest familier with it

In all likelihood, it's either poor connections due to loose wire or corrosion/oxidation in the connectors, or in the switch, especially the power switch. Try cleaning those with contact cleaner and if accessible (connectors), mechanical scrubbing with an appropriate brush, polish, etc to remove the layer of oxidation. Sometimes, it could be poor solder joints that have degraded or opened. If I were to take a guess, I would first suspect the power switch.

Tried some cleaning and scrubbing but no results for the moment.

I appreciate it brother.
My box is back from the tech.
It was just poor solder joints that have degraded and opened. Some cleaning of some contacts and BINGO!! Its working as it supposed too.
So hopefully that can help you in fixing your BB. Good luck!!👍

Thanks I will check it out , I had a feeling it was either the power switch, the ribbon cable or bad solder joints. I would really love to fix my box because it sucks knowing its not right. I appreciate it!.

Ironically, DOA seems rather catastrophic since it prevents you from enjoying the equipment at all, but this is the type of issue that, generally speaking, is usually the easiest to correct.

What might seems like a more desirable (than DOA) issue (poor operating performance), for example, a unit that seems to operate perfectly but has a high level hiss, slight distortion, tuner that won't lock in good reception, one channel low or dead, especially in stereo mode, oscillation, hum, etc.. the source of those issues are much more difficult and time consuming to narrow down and find.
