Hello.
My first boombox restoration is complete. Took around 40 hours in total.
You may have seen my threads in the tech forum so you know i had lots of issues with the tape player.
Three main issues.
1. Belts melted.
2. El motor did not work. Controller board bust. After that was fixed motor had a tendency to seize sometimes.
Replaced it with a motor from a 2000 panasonic mini stereo. I was lucky it had built in speed control.
3. Rewind and ff did not work. Was a broken clutch mechanism. Glued it. The it worked.
Other than that it was the usual cleaning and fixing and polishing. Replaced speaker cables inside to better quality.
And as you see i painted the speaker grilles black. Suits this machine very good
Now its working perfectly. Quite nice audio quality from this model.
Compared to the philips i also have its clearly superior.
Thanks to everyone who helped me with the tech stuff.
