Hello To all,
I was looking for speakers to replace for my sharp gf 9494. I know that originals are hard to find and that it would be okay to use similar speakers. My problem is that not being experienced enough, I'm afraid of making a mistake. I am sending you a photo of the boombox spekers.
if anyone can help me I would be grateful.

Tech wizards on this site will be more helpful than me. Basically, however, you should look for woofers that, in addition to the same dimension -- and compatible configuration -- must have the same Ohm and Watt. Here's a link to two articles in Italian that should clarify matters (the first one is more comprehensive but also slightly more technical):

Hi Sam, first of all thanks.
I have the boombox to be repaired by a technician here near my city who fixes old radios. I try to summarize.
- the technician tells me that hthere is no problem for 4-8 ohms
- the important thing is that the size of the cone and its depth
ideal would be to find the original cones. here in Italy I find nothing.

I wonder these woofers could be fine?

You should ask your tech. But in my opinion the originals would be better. The woofers of the 9494 are the same size of a very common unit with many akas: the Trident CX-457 or Multitech TBS 7600, etc (Pantronic and General Shop are other brands that come to my mind but I can't remember the model numbers)-

Actually all of these units have the same woofer as the Sharp GF-505 (ie withouth the chrome dustcups that are typical of the 9494), but they look way better in a classical boombox than the modern -- although more efficient -- speakers.

The above are relatively common units. You may try to ask if anybody on this site has one for spares at a reasonable price with both speakers. I, unfortunately, don't.

@samovar : I always learn something new on this forum. I didn't know that all these boomboxes exist with the same dimensions as speaker. you are right in saying that mounting the originals would be great. But finding them at a reasonable price is difficult.
Is there a brand that produce similar speakers new..Does not matter if they are 100% same dimension. the links that i posted are good or not?

@Reli: sure i look for 4 ohm.!!! thanks but the main problem is to find them :sadno:

Ebay and PartsExpress are good for speaker inventory.
I believe those are 18cm diameter? Or are they really 16cm?
The most important thing to do is make sure they contact the plastic case. You cannot have any air gaps between the speaker frame and the boombox plastic, or you will lose bass.

These look like a standard sharp woofer besides the square magnet.
I think a vz 2OOO woofer would fit plus they have gaskets on the front and the magnet is not too big.
