Well, I'm sorry you couldn't see her all shined up but here is my latest from E bay
Ken-Tech... {in this case I believe it's a Technosonic}
I practically stole it in auction cause of the name and paint issues on the front.
But this thing is fully working and ridiculously lLOUD!!!
nice and heavy
No mind melting bass but if you crank the bass nob, there's good thumpage.
Anyway, I can't seem to get the back off so that I can clean it.
I've taken the back off of cheaper boxes before but I've never been in a box this big
Took all the nobs off, took all the screws out.
the edges budge, but theres something holding the middle.
thought maybe some of the PROs might have some insight that I might be missing.

I'll bet anything the back cover does not come off. Rather the front cover comes off and you'll have to remove the cassette doors first. Once you do that, I imagine the front will come off.

If you are ABSOLUTELY sure that you got every single screw (even the semi hidden ones), I would say take the cassette doors off. Most of the time, the cassette doors will need to removed from the door frame to allow the box to come apart.

I'd look in the battery compartment too. usually theres a screw hidden in there. but I agree with everyone else that its prob. the cassette doors. Good Luck. :-)

Excellent ! I have the Sankei version. The bass issue is more a question of balance for this box. Due to its forward mids and nice highs,it ended up having a rather neutral balance. Where this one really shines is it's surprising fidelity.Vocals come across stunningly clear !Unless you're a bass freak or one who likes a lot of the grungier styles of music, this box could likely end up being ones favorite!

:agree: :agree: :agree: it might be tight if its the first time pulling it apart but it looks like the front pulls off

Scott, try taking off the door cover, not the entire door hinge. ;-) The door cover usually creates a lip that catches and prevents the body from coming apart.

But if I don't get inside this thing, I guess I can live with a little dirt.
It's my new favorate.
I took it out on the town last night and everyone had a ball.
I love the off-brands that no-one else wants.
The mighty Ken-Tech.

OK, I'm baffled.
I'm not seeing taking the plastic part off without breaking it, but it doesn't matter because guess what? they are part of the front cover that comes off.
So does anyone know of a site that has service manuals for a Ken-Tech-720 or a Techsonic-z6800?

Naw,
I'm just going to try silver leafing the front like Master Z suggested in the Tech thread.
Eventually I may take it to the VCR repair guy to see if he can open it for me.
Still on the look-out for a tech manual on any alias of this box.

Cheers OSS :afro:
