Rubber Renue

Hello. I have some pinch rollers on a few boxes that are very shined and slick. Most tapes won’t play right on them. I was going to try to apply some rubber renue using a cotton swab. Has anybody ever tried this? If so did it work good? Also do you just apply to the pinch roller with a swab and turn slowly with your hand? Thanks in advance for any help,

Feel free to try it as they are already shot however, even if they do become pliable again it'll be short lived and W/F will be off the charts. I had a JVC that the rollers went hard. Rubber renew worked for almost 6 months. New rollers were no longer sold so I had to fabricate as best I could with modern equivalents and surprisingly succeeded.

I never tried! I knew it will not work! basically some harsh solvents like Toluene, Xylene etc. will swell rubber and when the solvent escapes it will be back to where it was.
