Rising with bad packing

I was searching boomboxes from a local auction site and found an image of a big dirty box. After a bit of researching i found out it was Rising SRC-2005. For a year i have been looking at boxes thinking i wanted a big cool looking box with good sound. When i realized that the dirty boombox in the picture was SRC-2005, i knew i had to buy it.
I wasnt sure of the condition of the box, but the seller said radio was working so i decided to buy it. Fingers crossed i was hoping that the Rising would be packed nicely, but...

This was everything the package had protecting the boombox:

When i started opening the package i was horrified. I remember thinking the box had to be in pieces now..
But no! The antennas were broken(seller did point it out) and the box was dirty as hell, but i was working!

Cleaned her up and sprayed some contact spray on buttons and knobs.
IT'S HUGE! I LOVE THIS BOX!


Im listening to this box all the time and hoping that summer came faster.

Yeah that was filthy! It's amazing that some boomboxes can make it in one piece with NO packing material, and others can be packed to the BRIM with foam and they come damaged.....

I gotta agree with ya Joe.

Nice clean up on that baby, shines like a new penny! That boombox had an angel on its side during transit that's for sure.

Sometimes, you just luck out. Other times, it seems delivery people find a way to trash even the best packed items. However never look a gift horse in the mouth and just give thanks for the blessing.

That must be one of the best built boxes in history because I have the Clairitone version of that box and it was shipped worst than that and it works great. I mean dude had like 3 strands of newspaper-lol.
