Hey guys ....Today I was a little bored so I decided to dig into this box that I received from one of my neighbors ... About a month and a half ago My neighbor gave me this beautiful rising that was just sitting in his garage collecting dust and lots of paint specks form when he painted his garage ...So finally after me bugging him for about a year he finally gave it to me So the madness begins I completely disassembled the box took the back and gave it a good soaking in hot water and soap to loosen up the waterbase paint specks ....after soaking for an hour to my surprise the were coming off with very little effort but the front wasn't gonna be that easy..the original paint had kinda faded on the top and a few minor scratches on the side .. so I decided to paint the front cover and in the end I was glad i chose to do so...but nothing is ever easy ...I spent little over nine hours on this box but it really paid off big time....tape deck wasn't working very well at first so I rebelted it, cleaned and adjusted the head after this it plays good as new All the controls were very staticky so I used deoxit on all the pots WOW what a difference a good cleaning makes also needed to replace the antennas .So I used a 9" replacement i purchased on ebay they are awesome for this application..now after all that I went to put the grills back in and just wasn't satisfied with the results of just cleaning the originals ...so I painted them with a semi gloss black finish and now they look as good as new...here are the pics along the way ...I should have taken more but I was so determined to finish...enjoy
