Ridiculous

I know that there’s quality differences among turntables and certain factors such as the type of drive, weight of the platter, etc can result in measurable differences in sound quality and stability. But if there ever was a point of diminishing returns, this thing eclipsed it long ago. It’s passed the point of ridiculousness.

I always found these towers extremely fugly, I have seen pictures of them with marble and what not.

On a documentary about todays production of Dual – the real Dual in Germany, not one of those licensing companies – the technician said that you can buy the best sounding turntable for about 300 Euros. Everything above that is possible but not necessary.

Bear in mind that vinyl isn't even an audiphile media, it has so many flaws. And most people love it for those flaws, at least the ones I know. Vinyl is easy to love and to enjoy and maybe that's why such record players exist – for people who can't stand taking things lightly and having a good time. :-D
