Hi,I'm currently restoring a Sharp GF-9494H.
It needs a full disassemble and a bath.
I've cleaned most of the rest of it,needed a new silicone tube repair
for the tape deck which I did and just need to trim it up and do some
adjusting yet.
FF & Rew. Worked fine but play wasn't working as the tube disintegrated.

The radio is all good!
There is a small hole on the bottom of this,I may just cut a piece of hard
plastic to fit the small triangle hole and JB Weld it into place.
Luckily it's on the bottom and it's small.

Need a tuning knob and at least 1 antenna for this.
I'm going to do a "Jimmy"'style resto on this! :surf:

I have some photos so far and will post my progress.

This is my first 9494 and they are big!

You bought the wrong type of silicone tubing if it simply disintegrated. :-O It could be that the inside diameter is too big or maybe you just cut the piece too short. Both of those situations could cause the tubing to travel too far out of reach on the flywheel shaft. My $.02. :-)

It's the right size dog.
Bill us right, just may be a little long-some resistance still.
Ordering new belts later this week.
Thanks though, sometimes I can't get it perfect on the first try. :hmmm:

It will be good soon!
Just completed the bath of the back!!
Man Jimmy's method works great!!!!

Hi,my 9494 is coming along nicely,I have the back all cleaned and
internals all put back in.

Now for the front!! Taking speakers out tonight and giving the front a
good scrub down with soap and water in the basin.
The question I have is:Should I remove the grills??!! :hmmm:
I know you have to bend those tabs but am worried they may not
go on as nice! :hmmm:

If anyone has restored one of these let me know on this.
Thanks! :-)

I'm going to spray paint my woofers next on this, they're white.
Where's the thread where someone has done this?
Can anyone give me some suggestions?

I'd love to get these woofers painted the original white finish!! :-)
