Hey all. My girl inherited this JVC RC-880 when her dad just passed recently. I cleaned it up and love this thing. I really would like to find someone that fix the few things wrong listed below.
Volume is scratchy works but lots of static while turning.
Bass knob doesn't seem to work
Tape decked worked perfectly and all functions. I hit the play button while cleaning and it stuck now it won't work and I don't wanna break it.
Left speaker doesn't work.
And the fine tuning knob doesn't seem to do anything.

Is there people that would be able.to fix all this? Is that an actual thing? Id love to send it out for repair just don't know if those places exist.

It’s often not economically feasible unless the unit has sentimental value to the owner, especially since you’ve listed quite a few issues, for it’s very likely that the cost to ship and repair it might exceed its value after repair. So can you get it repaired professionally? Absolutely. And if it’s a forever keeper, no problem. But if you think you might sell it after the repair, just know that the price it fetches might be less than what you invested in the repair.

Welcome aboard, guntruck! Some of the issues you listed might be easy repairs. Scan through the Tech Talk section for the 838 and other JVC models. You might find some topics that can give you some insight on how to fix your unit. :surf:

Thanks for the advice. It is in fact a sentimental piece and it would be for my better half. Who or where do i begin to look for someone that can do the repairs?
