I really had my doubts about posting this since there are creatures that hang out here that buy things in good faith, but you never get the lucre. But here goes, and from this moment on the Sharp RT-12 will go up in price on Eprey, capitalism..............So, this RT-12 fits PERFECTLY into the VZ-2000, the opening, not so much. In fact, the only reason I found this out I just bought a VZ2000 for a hundred bucks that had a missing tape cover, with pine needles, dirt, etc. on the tape. This is my 3rd of these and now I have 2 perfectly working VZ2000's and one that now has the ION Treble bluetooth vertical turntable AND practically a new tape player/recorder for less than $40. The original tape heads go for $300 and lower. I would rather have one from a stand-a-lone tape player/recorder than using old parts to fix an old boombox tape player that has gravity pumping dust horizontally into 24/7. There also might be other Sharp's that have play/record and APSS, with the same left to right finger press pattern. The RT-12 was the first I found and had a good price just to dismantle.sharp rt-12.jpg

Great scavenging, does the cover fit too? I like how the big sharps need floorspace to work on rather than a bench!

Cover does not fit; cassettes work in it, though. There might be a cover from another model that matches, but I got this one. Soldering the tape head wires to the "new" one is a bit nervy.......take your time, or have a pro do it for you.You can unscrew the old tape heads and use them on your new one, but as you can see, the old one on mine is filthy. Have fun and if I do a 3d print of a cover I will post it.
