I was wondering if anyone has had some success in sourcing replacement speakers for a GF777Z, I bought the box off off ebay a long time back and one of the outer speakers was dud so I got both outers replaced by an old Sharp repair centre, I've never been really happy with it's output so decided to take the back off to check the replacement speakers.
Replacement outers Max 15W 8 ohm
Original woofers state Max 8W 4 ohm
Without having the original outers I don't know what the wattage is meant to be, I'm thinking the new speakers might be too low and the 8 ohm instead of 4 isn't helping matters?
Operation manual states PMPO 90W with 4 amplifiers, back of the unit states 60W
Was out looking at car speakers today, plenty of 4 ohm 6.5" (16cm) options but none have a flat enough mounting surface, I don't even know if the GF could power a 120W max 35-40W continuous output car speaker!
I did read a post about cross over coils being replaced, might be an idea since I've got the back off if I can figure out what they are
