If these antenna are absent and need replaced, what is a good source?
Is there another JVC product that can be cannibalized for antenna?

Correct retracted length is good to have because it has to lock in place, so also the number of segments. You can find one on eBay. You might get lucky to have a pair from our members here.If these antenna are absent and need replaced, what is a good source?

Thank you!!!JVC RC656 has the same twin antennas as the M70 and is much more common/cheap
Thank you, Boomboxlover48!
This is new to me, you guys are friendly and helpful, and I am really enjoying learning!
I should add, on one side the antenna support assembly is missing, so this may turn into a fabrication job.
I would be content with not original, as long as it works.
Here is a thread our member Bill put for the antenna lock repair.
This can really help!

Antenna hold down repairs for all to see!
So lets say you have a unit but the hold downs are broken. Well I have a nice sturdy repair and it looks good too :-) First you need a tiny bit about the size of a large paper clip thickness. Depending on width of lockdown drill 1-2 small holes. I was able to drill about 1/4" deep. The deeper...boomboxery.com
I will look up for the total retracted length of M90 and M70 antennas.

Thank you so much for posting this. Gives me a great look at what I may be dealing with, and some great repair ideas!I thought I'd post some old pics I found in my phone with my M90 antenna repairs from a few years ago.
I had to do this on two of my M90s and I know I sourced the antennas from an Ebay seller in California but don't remember his name.
His store sold a lot of vintage antennas.
The ones I bought were slightly longer than originals and are only 3 segments but work great.
The white material I used to repair the inner plastic is called Plast-Aid and it's saved me on numerous boxes.
It bonds chemically to most plastics and is very strong when hardened.
You can mix it from watery loose (to get into tight spots) to like a putty and form it into different shapes.
You can see I used plain painter's tape as the forms and poured it around the antenna bases.

The Russell Industries FS-12H works good for the M90. They look exactly like the originals, just 1" shorter when folded up and 2" shorter when fully extended. Photo courtesy of blufuz. Original antenna on top, Russell on bottom.
