Repairing speakers...?

I'm not very much experienced with the tech stuff... please help me out...
I recently bought a Telefunken Hifi Studio 1, rather faulty and a little dirty but complete and radio/aux work. The price was pretty good for that. It was going to be my beat up outside boomer.
Unfortunately, in the midst of all the euphoria I didn't realize it was switched on PU instead of AUX (the sound was amazing nonetheless). So when I tried to push it to the limit on a bass heavy track the left speaker's bass stopped beating :'-(

What might be wrong? Is it by any chance repairable? How do you open the speakers box anyway?

Please help! While this boomer still beats my GF-777 even with one box bound behind the back, I want it to live up to its full potential of course.

Hey Zippy, from what I remember about opening speaker you have to unscrew the 6 big screws and then I used a big flathead screwdriver, and gently push the black front perimeter casing off from main part of box casing. Be carefull because that black plastic border peice is sort of a soft plastic and a metal screwdriver can dent the plastic. I think after that you can access getting at speakers.
Hope that may help!

Actually all you need to do to access the speakers is take the grills off the speaker cabinets" they just pull off"
Then unscrew the four screws holding the woofers in. They remove from the front........

Thanks alot guys!
But is it possible that "they just pull off" sounds easier than it actually is? Is there any kind of trick? Or do I have to use brute force and hope nothing breaks?

No brute force !

Use a fork , whitch fits into the small holes of the cover and protect the plastic edge to avoid dents .

I finally got it! I didn't succeed earlier because I've been a little bit of a moron -.-
My amatuer eyes didn't spot anything though. But at least I was able to take care of the dents...
