Recommended Paint and Laquer brands?

Could anyone recommend a paint brand that they have sucessfully used to paint a box and one for the speaker cones?
Should you laquer or varnish it once painted?

i dont think laquer is what you want to use. i seem to think most people use a acrylic spray paint but, i am sure others will chime in. you might be able to gleen more information from the section where guys post the stories about customized blasters.

Acrylic laquer for color coat. Clear enamel on the final coat for durability.

Varnish is for furniture or floors, not for boomboxes.

Duplicolor works the best for me...good color choices and quality paint.
