With everything in general slowing down and cutting back on money spending, I'm looking into getting some rechargeable batteries for my VZ-2000 & GF777 when I go to college I want em' portable and on the cheap side. Last year I spent over 100 quid on batteries alone.

So far what I found out, I need high capacity batteries 10,000 mAh + and I quality charger so that they last.

so far;

I know these boomboxes are very hungry on juice so is rechargeable realistic :'-(

Let me know.

Thanks

i know this sounds mental but i used to fix laptops ect..i had a few quite modern laptops but they were unfixable,they needed motherboards ect..so i experimented with one of the batteries,the battery was from a HP6735s,split the battery case and found the output +/- power points and connected a 12v power lead to it..it only says 10.2v on the battery but i thought i'de try it anyway, plugged it into the 12v input on the back of one my boxes,worked a treat,i even tried it on my GF999,i could turn it up to at least over half volume before it even started to flicker,i connected it to my GF9000 and ran the radio for about 2 weeks on about 3 on the volume..i also soldered a dc power socket onto it and got a regulated power supply adaptor and thats what i use to charge it..its great and it fits into my battery compartment aswell and i just click the battery door back on and lock it in :cool:

That is really innovative, but I'm looking to have the full power 11' of the units without touching anything they are beautiful machines.

This is interesting;

11.000 mA/h

Most chargers will only do 4 D cells at a time.

"I would suggest 2 of the Vanson Speedy Box chargers (BC-1HU). They have a automatic shut off at 11.5 hours and a charge rate of 700 mA/h. This means that it would take 2 cycles to fully recharge dead 11000 mAh cells."

I was on the thread before.

for this thread I wanted to be more surgically about rechargeable batteries on high consumption boomboxes and hopefully come to positive conclusion.

For example; Best Price Batteries & Charger

after reading a bit about this topic there is nothing specifically targeted for the boombox audience, clarity and simplicity with no soldering.

I'm sure there is an alchemist that knows about this sort of thing, and how many cycles it takes the charger to recharge heavy-dutys.

Thanks
Dan

Where I live there is a guy called Paul and he is a self-proclaimed alchemist and he can allegedly turned his **** into gold!

So something like heavy-duty long lifespan rechargeable batteries ideal for outdoor raves, would be probably a little more easier to purchase and hopefully won't smell like ****.

My solution:

Use 6 C-types inline in a Cardboard tube instead of 5 D´s

These C´s are cheap and has got 4000mAh

No soldering, save operation and real 15 Volts for full output

My M90 runs with them about 4 houres at high volume

:yes: This is my Nuclear Power invention :yes:

Sweet info!

Just about the highest capacity rechargeable D batteries you can get. 11,000 + mAh
£21.98 from tantronics.co.uk

ansmann_5000_d_120.jpg

these will last about half the time of the 11,000 mAh but will give you the same performance and a half the recharge time, also Low Self
Discharge so it won't be dead after a few weeks.
£10.99 from tantronics.co.uk

Universal-Battery-Charger-With-6-D-Size-9000mAh-Ni-MH-Rechargeable-Batteries-0.jpg

£80 tantronics have one but can't find it!

So what I know is that the mAh is like the fuel tank in your car, the more fuel you have the longer you can drive so depending on how long you want to :breakdance:
there is quite a lot of fakes out there so I'd recommend only going to reputable retailer. stay away from China.
