At first I was hesitant on posting about this, but then yesterday I took my GPO to a BBQ. I felt more confident about taking it opposed to my M70 and/or RX 5030. Not fearing if something happens to it. Honestly, I dont use the cd player at all! I prefer cassette operation. Although, I have used cassettes with it, I feel like the quality is only ok as there is some background hissing/distortion at higher volume levels. Rather I use the Bluetooth option instead. It was so night and day by comparison. Using the phone to control the sounds settings and accompaning the box settings, It resulted in louder, cleaner sounding music. The speakers could withstand the higher volume levels, but I didnt crank it all the in fear of doing damage...hahaha. It was plenty loud enough to cover about 1000 square feet and withstanding the party activities (kids screaming, pool, group conversations, etc..). I spent $200 on it and party goers really liked and complimented the box! The fully charged battery lasted almost 4hrs (3:55mins). I am very satisfied with the box and and comfortable with letting my friends borrow it if need (unlike my other two boxes).
Please feel free to comment, question, expreess your thoughts, or chop it up with me. Thanks

First of all this is no disrespect to you what so ever, this is just a personal opinion, i have a GPO Brooklyn, From The first day i bought it i didn't like it, the only reason i bought it was because it was cheap (£50 from a friend) and i was curious to know what they were like.. i have always hated it though, the sound is garbage, so quiet you can almost talk over it, bass isn't anything special, the battery isn't very good, you will notice most on the digital dab radio, even when you fully charge it, put the Dab on and turn it right up, the station starts cutting out because the battery is not even powerful enough to run it. the Cd player on mine worked for so long then jammed up, the tape deck is cheap and pretty poor, the tape counter isn't real, it starts counting soon as you put it on to tape, even though play/rew/ff/hasn't even been pressed, same with the Vu meter, it doesn't even go to the beat of the music, it just randomly flashes to it's own thing.. Also, you have to unplug the battery when it's not in use because if you don't, the radio will drain it even when it's switched off. i broke in to the internal wiring with mine and fitted a switch so i can totally disconnected the battery without having to unplug it.
Saying all that though, Ok Yes it's a crappy box, but it's good to have around when you've got some grail boxes that you don't want to take outside and put it at risk of damage, you can just take the brooklyn out, and if it gets kicked around it won't really bother you as much, i don't care for mine at all. i wouldn't even try to sell it, i just don't see any value in it.. probably ok for a Kitchen or a Garage just to play in the background while you're cooking or working on a car or something..

I hear you. We dont have dab in the US, so its a US box and I may also have had better luck with mine holding up. I didnt mention that my overall expectations of the GPO weren't high, so they were easy to exceed. There aren't too many options for a great machine (or at least I could find) for $200 that gave out that big box vibe. As far as being able to talk over it.....hmmm..nah not the one I have. It gets loud (w/vol all the way up on my phone). Thx for your thoughts!
