Well, I joined a few months back with my vintage Panasonic RX-C100 boombox, which has replacement speakers, I'd mentioned I bought it for cottage parties in the summer, Well she got her party!! 12 people on a deck outside and it was BUMPING, both my mix tapes, and peoples cell phones! Still had power to spare! I've fallen in love with this box so much, that I sold my Pioneer SX-1080 and I live in an apartment anyway so, the Panny is all I need! The pic is kinda crappy, but here she is on the beach down home blasting away! Also included a somewhat related pic of my Panasonic Transistor radio which is a few years older and goes on my more adventurous hikes!

Nice pics and both little beauties. The top Panny is a classy looking unit. I always think the best boxes are the ones you build memories with.

I know we don't mention them much but i love little radios like the bottom Panny, sometimes that small convenient box is all you need. That one has a clean look and is very nice.

Any blaster doing what it was meant to do is worth its weight in gold.

Thank you, I always enjoy the small transistor radios as well, With the big panny weighing around 40 pounds, It's sometimes more convenient to take the little radio on outtings, I have always enjoyed its looks as well, I got it at a thrift shop years ago for $5

Great photos, I love seeing these radios outside being used as intended, for the people! I love the little trsnsistor, I have the exact same one and I love the looks. I found it at a yard sale a few months ago and got it for a few bucks because they said it "wasn't working", but a little bit of cleaning solved that. Sorry for ramblin on, and keep sharing the music!

The C100 looks fantastic outdoors - simply craps all over the 680 for styling!! :-)
It craps over most other 3 piecers for styling.....................of course in my very humble opinion. ;-)

I use to have a 680 maybe 12 years ago, It was a very good stereo, My RX-C100 has replacement speakers in it, the old ones, had rotten foam and one of the the voice coils was damaged, They sound awesome though, great bass and great highs and lows, Thanks for the compliments on its looks, I was looking for a old boomer for cottage party's in the springtime and went on Kijiji, and I saw this and immediately drove an hour to go pick it up, It truly is a very classy looking boomer!

Wow Nick, that does look like my Panasonic's brother, It's possible its a more expensive version of mine, Does it have a lighted dial, My RX-C100 and the transistor have lighted dials which I love! Mine needs to have its switch cleaned for PSB/FM/AM finicky, I'll get around to it one day, I think I dissembled it before and found it to be very precarious surprisingly.

No dial lamp on mine - I think they were going out of vogue by the early 1980's except on the huge stereo's :-)

Mine needs a clean up & all switches - think I did test it when I got it but that was ages ago, it sits in my hallway with a couple of old timers that await repairing!!
