:agree: Nice job but I'm also curious about the speaks, never seen any mounted this way. :hmmm:
good job :yes: :yes: :thumbsup: there is a toshiba that uses that same speaker setup the rt-200 where the post in the back hold the speakers :yes: :yes: :yes:

It sure looks like it, doesn't it? Those speakers are pretty wimpy with teeny magnets and 3w max. That means they aren't intended for any serious "booming" and with that, it would appear it's safe to say that the plastic socket seems an effective method of retaining the speakers. I see no other fasteners or retainers so that's probably the extent of it. The upside of that mounting method is simplicity. The downside is that vibration could be an issue and aftermarket speakers would be out of the question. Also, if the originals should ever fail, finding any replacement with exact measurements will be difficult at best, if not impossible.
