Yes, it's a loud one. It can fill a big room, even on batteries (it does take 10 of them). The sound is not bad. There's no distortion at high volume, but it doesn't have lots of bass.

The cassette mechanism lets it down though. It's almost all plastic apart from the motor and capstan. The overall quality inside is quite poor.

After comparing it, I preferred my Panasonic rx-dt680. Maybe not quite as loud with rattles at high volume, but a much better quality.

Yeah Philips was fond of using 100% plastic tape decks to save weight

Yes, it's shame for Philips - the inventors of compact cassette to use this cheap plastic cassette mechanism all over the years.
