In a local auction I found a nice looking one, a Super Jumbo with all it's parts. The seller states that it "sometimes works and sometimes it does not" and that the cassette deck belts have crumbled from age. The second one I can fix no problem, but I would need to know why it refuses to work "sometimes" Perhaps a transformer issue? Still, it looks very nice and the price looks VERY nice.

If it only works "sometimes", it's probably because of a bad power button, or maybe dirty contacts in one of the controls, like the function switches, the volume slider, or the EQ sliders.

I took mine apart this morning. The tracks on the power board have burnt out. Intermittent fault could be that the tracks are burning through or that the socket has come lose due to being plugged in many time or the cable pulled.

If these are multi-voltage Boombox then they could have plugged into the wrong voltage lower is not too bad but too much is not good

Update: The sale announcement is no longer availlable. It doesn't say if it was sold or not, but it's an old announcement that went defunct at least once by now, as I remember. If it comes back, I'll buy it and then post an update about what's wrong with it.
