I have a couple of that type of thing; a Telefunken one from 1966(ish) that uses Grundig C100s instead of Compact Cassette and the other is a Dynatron Safari which is typical Hacker Bros kit in that its cabinet is of Rexine on timber construction so is hideously heavy (nigh on 2 stones!) but it runs from 3 PP9s (1 for the motor and two in series for the audio amp) so is at least practical, not like these things that have to rely on the inferior D cells.
I looked at one of these Sanyos in the harbour market a few years ago but left without it as it was missing some deck parts. With hindsight, I could have turned down and recut the sector and idler from a BSR to fit the (Metric?) threads in the Sanyo's plinth. Stuff I regret #814/a/106.
