So i was outside working out with my boombox on. It was in the shade for a while. Went inside to eat for about 15-20 minutes. i turned it off and fully off to 'Ac' so the batteries wont drain from charging the Ipod. came out for another 10 min and then looked at my box and it was in the sun and the PowerLevel Indicator was CRUMBLED UP!!!! i dont know what to do...maybe u guys do

p.s. IM PISSED OFF!!! :nonono:

Same thing happened to mine.
I peeled back the fake tuner plastic and took the plastic graphic out and now mine is chrome.
Doesn't look bad but I won't use mine in the sun anymore.

It sounds like it looks cool! Did you open up the box to have to do that?

 That truly sucks! You pay good money for this product, and you gotta worry about it sitting in the sun. WTH! :dunce:

They don't make them like they used too!! This is why I haven't bought one yet. All these horror stories about them. I heard they sound good too. They've been on sale on eBay for dirt cheap but I pass on them because of this. Good luck on your quest to repair it.

huh....you'd think that Lasonic would do a little product testing on an item that, being portable, would be exposed to the sun/ heat?? :sadno:

Goodluck superdude, I hope she gets fixed up soon

I didn't have to open the box.
Just gently peel back the plastic display covering it

Would i be able to out the plastic back on???
It's only on there with double stick. It's a shame lasonic built a portable you can't
Bring Out in the sun. Other than that it's a nice box for the money

Just think though if Lasonic used better quality parts the I931 might cost $400-$500 like all the rest of the newer ones, Altec lansing and TDK :hmmm:

Well look at it this way, back in 80's and early 90's the TRC931 went for about $160-$170 new and the TRC975 was about $180-$190 new :hmmm: Now the I931 shipped can go between $120-$200 new black or white and specialty versions are over $300 :-O

So I'm betting if they built it stronger with better parts they would have to sell them for quite a bit more :hmmm:
