Not a huge fan Myself, I only like a couple of their albums.

Present Arms In Dub is my favorite, spark up a blunt and turn it up loud, almost no vocals on that album, but the best Dub music you will ever hear. Only Lee "Scratch" Perry is comparable.

Not into ub40, but looks like a great collection there. Just the value in trying to hunt that down has to be worth more than you paid.

Sure there is, but to my mind (and just bear in mind I'm not a reggae/dub expert, you can ask me anything about 1st and 2nd wave ska and punk though) the UB40 Present Arms (In Dub) was up there with the best, and here's why: 1) it showcased "versions" of the songs on Present Arms in an extremely innovative manner, and it introduced a generation of record buyers to Dub, because it was the first Top 40 Dub LP.

It was also the first Dub LP I bought as an impressionable Australian blue eyed, fair haired, teenage boy, and I still have my copy, and still play it regularly.

mad professor, - I Have 1 album
king stitt - Never heard of him
any trojan box set comp - I have nearly all the trojan box sets, there's quite a few.
studio one releases- I have about 6 studio one compiles
king tubby I don't have much King Tubby, maybe a couple of tracks
augustus pablo - Skanking With Pablo - great album
prince buster - no albums, maybe a few tracks on some compiles.

yeah, i'm not into dub much lol, just a few dozen LPs and CDs, 1st wave ska really floats my boat. My Trojan & Studio one compiles get a big spin, My Lee Perry CD's not so much.

Love the early UB40, the Signing Off album is my favourite. :-D

As for Jamaican releases;

King Tubby and Prince (Now King) Jammy dubs are awesome and some of the most inspired and creative.

Also Studio One dub sets like the Dub Specialist series and also some nice dub versions of classic vocal Rocksteady tracks on the Treasure Isle label.

Amazing stuff that really stands the test of time. :surf:

Classic 70s and 80s dub is some the best ever music to crank on a boombox when you're carrying one.

The extra echo and reverb you get from the sound bouncing off objects as you go past them is an experience I hope everyone gets to enjoy.

Rock On.
