Have some fine scratches just from age nothing deep on the radio tuner section clear plastic. What is the best way to get those out?

Does the stuff they use for polishing car headlights work or is that too harsh for such a thin plastic?

Yes, PlastX works well. Use a microfiber cloth and work on it. Change the area of the cloth as you proceed. Mask the surrounding area so that you don't shine or lose marking from there. I would completely isolate that section when you use PlastX.

The content of PalstX is finely divided abrasive particle. So basically you are taking out a thin layer from the surface profile for the beauty and looks. In the big picture a sharp scratch will look like a smooth scratch if you didn't dig deep and remove the deepest layer of imperfection.

If the scratches are deep you might need a power tool to scrub with different grades of...particle size abrasive material...big to small....and finally make it smooth and then polish. We have members here who have done this the right way.
