Hi,

Can you please explain the functionality of these parts in the tape deck?
I miss the flywheel outer washers - how does it effect the sound ?
The edge of the metal plate just touches the edge of metal cylinder (in which the flywheel shaft is placed)

Thanks

Hmm, i would say it make a contakt to the ground (earth- minus pole) to prevent some noises... but how big is the effect ??.....
The washers inside the tape (when you remove the flywheel) saves the metal... When the wheel turns and there are no washers (inside, between wheel and hole), the wheel and metal making some srcatsh noises.

Woohhaa.... not easy to explain it in english :-)

I measured ground continuity to the flywheel post and it showed few ohms (not constant), it gets closer to zero if I apply a little bit pressure to that metal retainer...

I don't have the outer washers that touch the metal retainer (see pic).
I only have an inner washer inside each flywheel placed on the flywheel post base before its inserted back to its hole) - Maybe these should be placed over the post on the outer side?

Maybe you 767 owners remember during deck servicing where these washers placed?
I do remember FATDOG mentioned in his tutorial to pay attention to a washer over the post...
It would be very helpful if you could post a clear pic of that washer and if you remember if there should be another washer burried deep inside that same post...
