Hey guys, I need to rechrome some plastic parts for my boomboxes but can't find a place, any idea of a place in USA?

Depends how much you want to spend. I believe vacuum metallization was the method used originally, and that's pretty expensive unless you do a large bulk order.

There's also some pretty decent sprays available, they're a lot better than they used to be, but I still wouldn't use spray for anything with really fine grooves like most knobs.

I don't think you can, you would need to use new clean plastic for it to adhere properly. Just find another donor box with better parts. There is Aluminium tape or chrome pens you could try.

Thank you guys, sounds like it will be very expensive. I have 2 conion c-100f but led chrome and speakers trim are kinda f ...up I tried 3 different products but non of them worked.

At least one collector has done this, but they're only on facebook. I have no idea who he worked with but if I had to guess he probably had a buddy that restored car parts and had access to a chroming line. Chromed knobs and rims used electroplating lines in a high volume manufacturing environment back in the day. Trying to strip off old chrome involves even more toxic chemicals than electroplating them so you'd probably struggle to find an affordable place that not only chomes, but does a strip/rechrome.

I was trying to use Chrome wrap but it didn't work on small parts but it's good on some of the Bigger parts.

There are some that do a reasonable job of it. Still not a perfect mirror finish obviously. But better than they used to be.
That is good for people to know my friend, fortunately for me my chroming days are over unless i want to chrome my bell end like twiki from buck rogers lol

Any recommendations for some sprays that have worked pretty well? I’m in the US... not sure if that makes a difference or not for availability.

There's a nail decorating kit you can pick up on amazon for a few bucks that looks dope, check out the 6 minute mark (Chrome Nail Powder)

Haven't tried it but I have doubts it would work because of all the fine ridges and corners on the knob, the primer may fill those in and you'd lose definition. It may be better for stuff like speaker rims and such.
