Hi all,
Just finished a few projects, this being my personal favorite so far..I do like the look of this Pioneer.. I think its got quite a classy look to it and it does sound pretty darn good!!
Sorry about my photography skills.. Feel free to ask any questions.
Matt

The day i got it..

Pulling apart..The unit was in pretty good shape internally.. The grilles needed a straighten out and spray, New belts and lubrication was needed. Body wise needed a very good scrub.
I filled in the blemishes with a high fill spray and re-sprayed the body in Dupi-color Dove Silver

...Sorry Jane...?

Couldn't get the grilles off so i slid in paper through the speaker hole to mask up the chrome section of the plastics behind the grilles.

Reassembled..

Dining room photoshoot.:)

Oh my goodness!! Your photography skills make that 757 appear to be a literal museum piece. My 757 looks nothing like that.

How did you clean the speakers?

Thanks heaps guys. Really appreciate it.
FD: I first used a stiff brush and tweezers to pick out all the hairs and fibers stuck to the tar/paper surround (took ages), still wasn't looking all that great so I used a vht vinyl dye spray and gave it a very very light coat.
Didnt affect the sound. Still very punchy and bassy.

In terms of the photography, I have to give credit to a member on here and his post. Saw the style he used and I tried to best replicate it.. I have zero photography skills lol

Wow. Seriously! Museum Grade. I've never paid particular attention to Pioneer. That was always home audio stuff for me.

But this box...has caught my eye. BIG TIME!

Mate. I was the same, for me it was always home and car audio.
Definitely fell in love with this one. It's my go to box now..

This is one hell of a box. Individual solenloids for each Tape player function and a crazy ass cam setup. Did you manage to get the tape working? Do all the UV leds work cause they do burn out.

Yup everything with tape and unit works perfectly. Tape doesn't auto stop but I can live with that for now.
Needed a good clean out and lubrication.
VUs working great. Really love the look of them

The contrast from the black background and the fresh painted woofers makes this 757 look so awesome.
Great restoration DBzerk :)

You need a new flat belt for the Auto stop to work.
I did change the belt...but for a generic type..thought it was just a touch lose..
Will try again..might hit up nikonfoo for one

Same here there was a new belt on mine but was too loose. The other small square belt runs the cam mech worth using a tightish square belt as well.
