Just picked this one up at a thrift store for $22. Looked at it then picked it up and could not believe how heavy it was.

Does anyone know if this unit is any good.....it is in really good shape...

Thanks

Like really good or just good, I have not tried it yet but will tomorrow. Still sitting in the trunk of my car. It worked when I tried it at the thrift shop but I did not really listen to how it sounded. I just knew it was very heavy and must have some substance.

Thanks

Sean

Are you serious? It's a subjective interpretation no matter what. So if you are looking for an exact rating of whether it's 7.8 good or 8.1 good... sorry. You are just going to have to give it a look see and hear for yourself cuz maybe my good is your bad, or very good. And if you don't feel like making the time to go listen to it without at least a very good rating, then..... Oh heck, just forget what I said.

I DELETE my good and remain neutral.

sean --$22 !!!!

if its all working well --and IF IF IF both speakers need no repairs -
then your great CK 5 is more like $322

these are beautiful to look at and to hear --
the bass is as deep as it ever gets in the box world

i just hope your speakers are in good shape -
as the repairs are beyond what most shops can do

No boombox can compare to home audio, which are rated in the hundreds of a percent in terms of distortion. Boomboxes are rated at 10% THD. In other words, by comparison, no boombox except for the very high powered 3-piece boomboxes, some without batteries, can be considered hi-fi.
