I am re belting my Lasonic TRC-935 and I was going to order new pinch rollers. But I have a few questions.

Below are a few pictures, sorry they are not better, I do not have a Macro feature on my camera.

This radio has two decks, one is different from the other.

In picture "A" the red arrow points to the Pinch Roller it's self and the blue arrow is pointing at the roller shaft. The roller shaft is plastic. It looks like it just pop's out of the "Forks" that are holding it. Is that the case? I don't want to break it.

In picture "B" again the red arrow's are pointing at the pinch rollers and the blue arrows at the roller shafts. This time the shafts are METAL and the seem to be pressed in to hold the rollers in place. Do I have to press out those shaft's to get the rollers off?

Any advice would be great!

Thanks

1st. are you sure you need new ones :hmmm: You may be able to clean these off real good with rubbing alcohol and that will make them more rubbery ;-) I would try that 1st

If you do take the rollers off
remove the bracket holding the rollers first.
Theres a small plastic washer holding it.

I have inspected them and of the 3 one needs it for sure, so I thought I would just do them all.

This is an interesting option on this radio.

Deck 1 is a rec/play deck and deck 2 is a reverse able two way deck.

The reason for three rollers.

OK, I will see how that comes apart.

One of the issues with this set up is, Lasonic soldiers EVERYTHING. Things would be much easier if there were a few wire harness plugs.

Belts are on there way as are rollers.

I know the feelings about all seperate soldered wires  Which one of the 3 need it because with these being older the plastic is more fragile and I would be worried about it cracking :hmmm: just my 2 cents ;-)

I hear ya on that one. I may clean and demagnetize the plastic one. That one works. It will be so sweet to have this working with both decks. There are some nice features on this radio that I want to utilize. I've been making new mix tapes and trying to get away from my mp3 player...but that's another story!
