Wow, you can get one from China in good shape and I get one from the US all cracked up. I guess you found a good seller, while I found a sh|t seller. It looks real nice! Congrats.

...thanks Rick...visually this box is a stunner...I had to really search to find a blemish...but it does have some minor function issues. The tape deck needs belts, the volume knob has some static and the fm stereo light is out. Other than that she is perfect...and it only cost me $199...

No question Melly... you found a gem. Take good care of 'er, she's a purty bird, that's for sure. Always one of my favorites.

it is quite possible that during the time these were sold they were the owners most expensive personal possession one must remember that during the time these were sold china was a extremely different place than what we see on tv today.
well most of china i believe is still the same but i think one could easily argue for many at the time one of these radios must have been viewed as a extremely expensive luxury item.

...thanks SD, this is such a beautiful piece of 80's artwork...and the cosmetic condition is truly unbelievable!!...but with your help I will have the inside functioning like the outside looks...I have been listening to Rick Braun on this box all day via mp3 and the sound is beautiful...the background instruments in the music are highlighted in a way that I have never heard from any portable box...I can see why it is your favorite box to listen to...

I can tell you this much Bill, someone took extremely good care of this box and I definitely intend to do the same...I still can't believe after 30 years this unit looks this good...and sounds as good as she looks...

Well you know, Melly. If I still had the M9994 version, I'd love to show it to you for a comparo but the version you have has a loudness button. The non-K version replaces that with a midrange button which makes the box sound a bit brassy but really brings out the detail in the music and volume wise, is probably 30% louder too! No, it's not more powerful but the mid/high range requires less power to produce the same perceived volume as the low frequencies, which takes much more oomph. Diverting that same power to the mid/high range makes for 1 super loud box!

Congrats man, very nice box indeed.

You have a big luck with this deal, because as i know, buying from some china seller is very hazardous operation.
