Hi,I was recently working up in Mn.for almost the whole month of December so I did bring 3 extra boomboxes that I sold and I got a somewhat dirty Realustic SCR-17 smaller twin cassette deck am/fm Boombox.
I got it free(Christmas present) it was dirty but tape 1 worked and tuner worked ok.
I cleaned it up really well and even painted the grills but upon getting the deck section back in as I cleaned and serviced the deck the middle lights for battery and input level doesn't work and the tape plays ff,rewinds and all but now just hums!
Cheap deck on this unit but it seems like a bad ground or bad wire.
The good is that the tuner works great and the sound is actually quite punchy for a smaller 1 piece unit.
I have a aka Sears LXI series that's almost exact,I think the Realistic sounds better!
Photos soon,I sold a Sony egg, JVC PC-XT3 twin CD Boombox, and my Toshiba RT-150S.
So picking up 1 and getting rid of 3 I'm still going in the right direction.
Now to sell 5-10 by this spring and I'll be in much better shape for room and thinning out boomboxes that I don't feel fit my collection anymore.😎📟💳📻

Here's photo of the poor thing, was quite dirty but I'm a little bummed about the deck humming and the little light bar going out.
Thing teally sounds decent for its size.😎

That's nice.  It looks very sturdy and well grounded, it also looks as if there's plenty of room in the speaker boxes for acoustic foam if ever it was needed.

Is that a Modulaire, Jeff? It sure looks like one. I have several (most) of them and I find the sound quality to be surprisingly good...

Free is the best.
