Photos Of The WX-1 Woofers!

Hi everyone-I was wondering on the speakers if I should have them re-coned? I think I just need surrounds on these as I can see that the woofer seems to be intact.
Give me your opinion but it looks like the surround kit is all I need.

I've never seen a more beefy woofer in a boombox!!! The magnet is as big as the speaker,way cool & heavy!
I guess if the voice coils aren't burned out then I can get by with this,I didn't hear or feel any bad resistance in cone travel when straight.

Cleaned up & removed a few dings in the grills,all good now!

If they read ok then just refoam. It is best to retain original speakers for the passive radiator to work at it's best.
You might want to read up on using a battery to centre the voice coil (very important) as you probably wont want to cut the dust caps off.

Mine look a lil different from yours. Damn and you have the real tweeters in yours. Mine have that stupid disc tweeter. Nice magnet! I got mine from Lopez. It's complete. I'll snap some pics of all sides if you want. Give me some time.

Tshorba is right. It looks like it only needs the surround replaced. I thought you said it needed re coned, I remembered them being intact.
Shouldn't be too hard.use shims to center the voice coil when you do it. There are tons of you tube videos that show how to do it.
Just take your time, its rewarding if you can fix it yourself. Good luck.

I am going to do the surrounds as like you all said the paper cone is intact!
I will be doing this within the next couple of weeks!
After Memorial Day weekend I'll order those surrounds.
