Thanks for love Mr. Dog

Its not really my thing ... but I couldn't leave it - it looked lonely

Nice!
Got also a similar one.
Usual not my way, but one of those things must be in every collection...

Hi! There is one of these going for sale up at my local salvation army store, but it doesn't seem to work :-/
Specifically, the tape motor seems to work, but there is no volume coming through the speakers whether with a tape or when I switch it to radio.
Is there some trick with the controls that I'm missing?
I messed around with it a bit but couldn't find anything.
I can't tell if it has shitted itself or not.
I'd love to learn how to work on fixing such things, but it might be beyond me.

If I don't decide to get it soon, they are sending it off back to their head office or something where an electrician will look at it and then decide if it goes to landfill or not,
but regardless, I don't think it's going back to my local Sallies.

It looks like a good unit, and I want it if I have a chance of getting it to work.

Advice? :-)

Possibly may just need thorough cleaning inside and out and all switches and pots cleaned with deoxit or contact switch cleaner!!!

thanks! Sorry if it was inappropriate to post this here. Didn't think of that at the time. I will give this it's own thread and try and do some research on FAQs etc. [no idea where to start]
