I've got myself a Philips D8444 and the sound is as poor as everyone says, plus it's old and worn out. Sitting in a box in my loft are a pair of old but imaculate JPW mini monitors with the following specs
Freq range - 70Hz to 20Khz plus/minus 3db at 2m on axis
Sensitivity - 87Db at 1m for pink noise input of 1Watt
Impedance - 6 ohms nominal
Power Rating - 70 Watts continuous
Drive Units - 135mm paper cone base unit with rubber surround. 14mm dome tweeter with ferro-fluid damping
Now bearing in mind that I don't understand half of what the specs mean. Would it be worth fitting these speakers and tweeters in place of the crappy plastic mids and piezo tweeters or would I be wasting my time?
