I have been on a class trip to Italy

And yes, I somehow recognize those speakers...I stood there very long to ask the guy if he still had the middle part A shame he threw it away!

well that would be awesome and i know you can get them together , a thin piece of plywood on the bottom as a platform and grabbed from the bottom somehow then tie the speakers together on to the main unit

When configuring the speakers though........

I would put them in such a way that, instead of having two left speakers on the left, and two right speakers on the right, I would put one of each on both sides in such a way that the tweeters are either right next to each other on both sides, or as far way from each other on both sides.

Go on...Experiment. There's two other configurations to try. You never know, it may make the boomer look even more cooler than it already is.
