This is doing the rounds again, i first saw it a couple of years ago, but ive had three this last fortnight

If you recieve this and it gets through your spam filter, do not click the link in the email, it will take you to a false login page, where if your details are automatically filled in by your browser, the moment they auto fill in, the scammers have you details and your account will be empty in no time. I tested the link and reported it from a machine that has no personal information of mine on it. So dont think I got caught out by this
Here is a copy of the mail, for safety purposes I have added asterix's to the login url as I wouldnt want anyone to accidently click, copy etc the link and end up scammed

It's definitely a scam although I have never observed my browser automatically filling in any information on a site that I've never visited before. The browser is smart enough to know that account-paypal.com is not the same as paypal.com. It's people who aren't smart enough to note the difference and get fooled. I also doubt that any information autofilled is automatically submitted without a keystroke or mouse click action on the part of the user but I suppose it's possible. Maybe one of the many professional computer programming dudes on this forum can chime in on that.

Anyhow, it's warned all the time to never click on an email link. This should be second nature now to anyone serious about online security.

I've been getting these for years, claiming to be from everything from Paypal to banks to credit cards to social networking sites (to which I don't belong). Phony as rubber money! Delete them without a second thought..

The thing that says scam is that it starts "Dear Paypal Customer"
Paypal know your name and email address and would never start with "Dear Paypal customer".
