Has any of you good people had anyone file a dispute against you for anything ?
Well i am going through one dispute because i won an item on the 7th,i payed through paypal, the item was pick up only, the next day the seller sent me a message saying his mobile phone is going to be switched off for a couple of days,i thought hmmm why ?? i have`nt got a land line/home number to comtact him on,i dont have his home address because he has`nt shown it on his auction or in his paypal, just says "contact seller for pick up details"and now the seller has disapered,so i have filed a dispute,
i want to ask you good people, when i file a dispute, does paypal susspend his paypal account,or is he free to use it for the time being ? it does`nt seem to have shocked him into contacting me,the guy does`nt seem bothered at all ! i hate the way they give the seller 20 whole days to respond...it grinds my teeth !
ebay is pretty shitty right now,i may have to start another dispute because i bought a replacement lcd screen for a psp last week,it arrived in a little thin box, inside an envelope, the screen was smashed,i sent it back the same day,he keeps saying he has`nt got it..and stupid me did`nt send it recorded or tracked...

Oh, my. On the first, I think you'll get your money back.

On the second, I think we may have a problem.

Paypal will put a freeze on the seller's ebay account representive of the funds in dispute but only to the extent that the funds are actually available. If he withdrew or transferred the funds already, then it's gone. If you've paid via credit card and you feel that you've been scammed, file a chargeback against this item before the time limit expires. 99% of the time, the credit card company will get your money back. Don't just file an ebay claim. File a paypal claim.

On the second situation, one condition of successful dispute claims is a TRACKABLE method of return. If you can't prove that the item was returned, I believe you're going to lose your case. Sorry about that. However........... if you have correspondence and pictures proving your case, you can try the credit card charge back avenue again. It's a bit less certain, but the credit card company holds all the cards. If they charge back against paypal, then paypal will automatically charge back against the seller, irrespective of what ebay and paypal's findings are.

Truth is, protection is way skewed in the direction of buyers. Sellers are always sticking their neck out, especially as it applies to large purchases.

With great knowledge, comes great responsibility. Please don't use this to scam honest sellers....

Hmm, not a lot of time has passed yet. He could be out of town, he could be moving, it's hard to say. When you begin the dispute process, ebay will give you the sellers contact information including phone number on file and I believe the registered address. Start there. How is his feedback?

he is a reletively new user, only 9 feedback,no i cant see him being away,he messaged me the day after i won and payed, and ebay and paypal have give me no address or phone number, and you would think that a pick up only auction, there would be lots of contact,i payed on the 7th,he sent me one email,he did`nt say he was going any where,he just gave me a dud mobile cell number,no home number,no home address, and he has`nt contacted me since the 8th,and none of his other details have shown up on ebay or paypal,e.g home address or home contact number,i`ve just got very suspicious, this is not normal for a pick up only auction,i just got so frustrated...

GM. Just go to your "my-ebay" page, then go to "items won." From there, find the item you won and you should see a drop down box captioned "resolve a problem."

Start there. Ebay should give you the seller's contact information if you indicate you are unable to contact the seller. The seller's confidential info is not given automatically unless you indicate you are having a problem contacting them.

Well after ringing the seller constantly all day, kept getting answer phone because his phone was switched off,but i finally got an answer about an hour ago..what do you make of this..he answered the phone,i said hello,i`m ringing you about the sony hifi i bought from you on ebay,he hung up and switched his phone back off..
i`ve looked every where for his address or home number, its no where,i`ve looked every where in ebay, and paypal, people should`nt be allowed to hide there details like this..
why has ebay got so full of con merchants ? i knew he was iffy, thats why i filed a dispute so quickly,i just knew !! looks like he ran off with my coin...
