Hey all, so i found this Panny on ebay and made a cheeky offer which was accepted, it has a cracked tuning glass but with some detailing should be pretty good. I didn't have a nice silver Panny and fancied one of these.
I would like to replace the tuner glass, if anyone has a parts box and wants to sell the glass let me know.
Here is a pic from the auction:

It's a great box! Reckon that'll polish out lol. Is the glass not sandwiched between the plastic case and the metal surface like the 5250?...I wanted to replace it on a 5250 then saw how it was assembled and gave up lol

I also have one of these great looking boxes, it's such a heavy, well made machine for the size. It's not got a lot of bass, but it makes up for that in the quality of the sound. I hope you can successfully replace the tuner window. Here's mine...

I wish you every success with the tuner window, this is a box deserving a little TLC to make it stand proud once again. Would you post a photographic record of your findings and fixes, please?

Beautiful box to have.

I would immerse the section with the metal part upside down in water at 60 C for 5 or 10 minutes and slowly try to lift the top section. Pull the metal metal section slowly with a plastic pry tool taking care not to bend the metal.

Adhesives get soft when you increase the temperature and take advantage of that to lift off that metal section to install new glass.

Once the box has been removed from the warm water and the temperature needs to be maintained, would either re-immersion or a hair dryer on a warm setting be used? (Just thinking aloud.)
