Panasonic RX5050 Restoration!

Restored member Bernies Panny. Was in pretty bad shape but seems a little better looking now and Sounds great. Even Record works because Bernie does Recordings. All cleaned inside and out especially tons of paint specs and marker writing. Deck cleaned and rebelted. Heads cleaned and demagnetized. All switches, sliders and pots cleaned. Tuner window buffed. Missing 1 screw on rear case. Enjoy before and after pics.

Very nice job👍,she sure was a dirty one inside and out.Also I didn't know the rx-5050 had real tweeters,just thought they were pizza electrics like the rx5030 and rx5150.You learn somthin' new everyday.Great vids too,the sound is outstanding.😁

Man, that´s a nice work, well, i myself don´t strip out the whole circuit board unless it´s very bad case, but i see you´ve worked hard on it and listening to it is the best thing after hard work and restoration

Well I tried a few things including peroxide and rubbing alcohol and seemed like alcohol works best 😉

I've always liked the simple lines of that model. I'm sure the key to the nice sound is that band equaliser that would allow you to pull down those mids!
