I have one of these and, while it looks rather interesting with some kind of fancy EQ arrangement, it can sound OK without blowing your mind.

With EQ buttons set at Neutral the sound is uninspiring, somewhat like a much cheaper mini. Play with those buttons for a sound that is more suitable to your own personal taste and this mini will offer you something much better, as each setting is either On or Off you need to find your best personal combination but the end result certainly out performs a Tone box.

Yes, the EQ can vastly improve the sound but at the cost of not having fully adjustable settings that may offer a better listening experience. It's novel, different, looks good on display, sounds very good through headphones, has a satisfying weight and a stylish appearance. There's only input and that's for Mic (L&R) so it's pretty much a stand-alone box. Worth having? I'd say so because I like it!

I've owned that model, it sounds good with the High and Low Boost buttons on, and the other 2 buttons off. That's really the only setting that makes sense.

Mom is right, a tweak of the settings on these and they sound pretty good and look really nice. Panny make some lovely minis
