Panasonic RX-DS11

Just got a late 90's Panasonic CD boombox-a RX-DS11.

I paid $25 for it-which was a fair price considering it was in a excellent condition.

This Panasonic boombox was released in 1997.

Some of its features are:
-CD player & single tape deck
-XBS bass boost (gives a deep bass sound)
-CD controls placed near the bottom
-volume control is a slider instead of a knob
-has a small LCD display for CD track info
-headphone jack on the rear of the boombox
-MASH 1 bit DAC
-speakers are of the 10cm type
-quite light (2.9kg)

With XBS turned on and the volume set to a medium level, the RX-DS11 sounds quite lovely-with very nicely balanced bass.

And it´s a PANASONIC.

I owned the same, but gave it as exchange for an oldskool PHILIPS

Thanks for the kind comment about my Panasonic boombox.

I don't usually collect Panasonic boomboxes-but this one took my fancy (as it had XBS bass boost).

I disassembled my Panasonic RX-DS11 to take this photo of its internals:

Some notes:
-very easy to take apart, uses philips head screws
-lcd/control board seems to be using soldered connectors
-Tape mechanism is SG20 and optical pickup block is RAE0150Z (according to http://www.justmystage.com/home/videotopaz/poto/national-1996-2000/RX-DS11.gif)
