Hi everybody
I have a Panasonic rx-ct980 portable stereo that recently have a problem.
I use it in aux mode, connect the mobile phone to it with a cable.
I always do this. But recently, when I turn it on, I only hear sound from one of the speakers, low quality sound. when I touch the aux button or the rest of the mode change buttons a hissing sound is heard from the speakers and for a short moment, the sound becomes high quality and can be heard from both speakers, as soon as my finger is removed from the buttons, the sound becomes poor again and I only hear a weak sound.
What is wrong with it ? How is it repaired?
I need to replace the electronic part !?

By dirty, Eddy means that the internal contacts that bridge the connections have developed oxidation. Oxidation (like rust) prevents good electrical contact. You must clean off the oxidation. The best thing to do is to use a deoxidizing solvent, such as Deoxit D5. Spray it into any open holes and work the switch on/off many times. This should scrub off the oxidation and restore good contact. If you just work the switch vigorously even without the cleaner, you may notice improvement which is a sure tell sign that you are on the right track. However, without this solvent, you won't get as good of a cleaning result. You can also find these type of cleaners known as electronics cleaner, which may be available in the electric section of your home improvement store. Of course if you have an electronics store supply nearby, that's even better.

Hi superduper
You are absolutely right.
I bought one of those cleaning sprays you mentioned and waited until I got it.sprayed on the key and changed the keys a few times.
The problem was fixed and high-quality sound can be heard from the speakers.
Although this Panasonic sound system was produced in the 90s, it still has good sound quality.
Thank you so much
