Yesterday I was exploring the basement where THOUSANDS of pieces of audio equipment on tens of hundreds of shelves sat for testing and repair. I took pictures, but while I was there, I saw a couple radios I wanted. So I offered $20 for both and ran home.

Amongst the two, I got this one. It's a Panasonic RX-C50 with beefy detachable speakers and Dolby noise reduction. It's very heavy and amazingly well designed, and very small lol. You can see the other Panasonic radio I bought along with it in the background.

The only issue with it is that the tape deck sounds "distorted and warbly". I haven't tried it yet since it's been disconnected, but it did come with screws and brackets, and the original belts still intact. This seems to be a common issue with these sets, but otherwise the radio works great and makes a great display piece.

So not only did I find a gem in the wild, but in the basement of a record store of all places!

I remember using one of these as a head unit in my car because I was too poor to afford to stereo I just wired it all up where the center part of the Boombox sat in the passenger seat and I can control it from there the s*** sounded pretty awesome though I will admit that.
